Fuel.PH’s Launch Event

And so it began… Fuel has been working as an online social campaign for the past 6 months (plus some), but has now officially launched “in the flesh” here in Iloilo City, Philippines. What an exciting time for us! The potential for our message “Fuel Your Passion. Make Something Beautiful.” to touch even more passersby and to encourage those already following the movement, was what lead to us doing this launch on such a big level. Our amazing team put on an incredibly successful event with people begging for more. What a great problem to have! ;) Here’s some of the feedback we’ve already received: “Nothing like this has ever been done in Iloilo before, we’ve needed this so badly!” and “I am so thankful for Fuel, please keep things coming!” and “What’s next, we want more!” and “I have been so encouraged after coming to the event, I am dreaming of what I can do to pursue MY passion.” ….and many other forms of such statements! This event showcased talents like break dancing, krumping, a live graffiti artist, a wide range of musical artists, photography, videography, painting, beatboxing and spoken word. These beautiful people with incredible talents were brave enough to share their passions with the city and so many more were deeply inspired to do the same.

Cheers to the future! :)

Friendship.
What we truly love most about being here on the other side of the world is the people we get to meet. The wonderful, beautiful, talented, inspiring, loving, hospitable people. We both feel so honored to be here and to build relationship with the girls you see in the photo above and many others. I truly believe that I will be a better person just from knowing them. Their hearts are lovely, their minds are brilliant and their love is evident. I find myself wondering, “Man, is this real life?” on a daily basis.

Behind the Scenes.

Fuel had the opportunity to go behind the scenes of a new film by an aspiring filmmaker, Josh. He is Korean but has been living in Iloilo for the past 7 years. Considering he’s only 15, Iloilo is basically home for him. His brilliantly creative mind is thrown into his work and then evident in the finished products. It’s been quite a joy getting to know this smart little cookie and we look forward to supporting his aspirations along the way. You’ll, no doubt, be hearing more from us about Josh… the young, smart, talented filmmaker.

Duckpin Bowling.

Always a good time. Never fails. Same concept as bowling, except the balls & pins are smaller. Also, instead of a machine clearing and resetting your pins each time… a guy is back there clearing, resetting and sending back the balls. All you see is their feet. Tough job, I’d say. Talk about back problems. Anyways, it’s a super fun game and provides for friendly competition and rivalries. If you visit Iloilo, you should try it.

Notice we didn’t post the score sheet…. :)

Trying new things… mainly food!

We’ve had numerous opportunities to experience the wonderful world of food here over the past few months. Sinagong, Batchoy, Balut, Street BBQ, Japanese Cakes, Tuna Hot Dogs, Bangus, Halo-Halo, Banana Qs, Chicken Intestines… just to name a few. One of the beauties of different cultures is their different expression of culinary treats. The palates of each region change pretty drastically as you travel the world. The key is to be open to the differences and relish in the adventure of trying new things. You will never know if you like something, until you try it.

Beautiful faces

We were walking around town and these beautiful girls caught my eye. They were pretty shy, but asking for money. At first we passed by them with a simple smile. As we waited for our jeepney, I decided to go back over to them to love on them a little and give a small gift. I had to take their picture because to me they were stunning.

Praying for them and for those in their situation.

Iloilo Lokal

Fuel was invited to join with a creative movement here in the city called Iloilo Lokal. This event purpose is to gather and encourage the local bands to showcase their original music while also giving them the opportunity to actually record and get their tunes out there for people to enjoy! It was a pleasure for us to be invited to join this event. With our new campaign launch just the day before [Fuel Your Passion. Make Something Beautiful] we were able to see visionaries put their passion into action. We very much look forward to many, many more opportunities to see passions pursued. Here’s a few photos from the event for you to enjoy. [photos by Patrick Mabilog - Fuel’s awesome Marketing Director]

New Campaign Launch

We had the launch of our new Fuel campaign just last week. With the message, “Fuel Your Passion. Make Something Beautiful.” Fuel is asking the young people of Iloilo to put their passion into action. The new interactive website enables them to voice what they are passionate about, while also getting to see what their peers in the city have to say with our Trending Passions feature. We’ve been able to showcase just a few local inspiring pursuers via video to encourage and challenge those who watch. So honored to be a part of this vision. Here’s a few photos of our merch and posters. Take a few moments and check out the new FUEL website: www.fuel.ph
